We need to find ways to stabilize fuel price fluctuation and ways to lower the prices we pay at the pump. Because we live in a global economy, we are vulnerable to every small skirmish that happens in the Middle East. Drilling for oil in the United States is not the answer. No matter how much we drill, it will never lower fuel prices. The fact of the matter is that OPEC controls the price of oil. If we started pumping more oil out of the ground or off our shores, OPEC will just reduce their output to keep the price of oil where they want it to be.

Natural Gas is very promising and abundant in the United States. We need to understand the challenges of fracking and if it can be performed safely. If so, we need to pursue it aggressively. I believe there is no one single fuel source that will solve all our energy problems. We need to harness all available sources of fuel we have in this country and provide incentives to keep our fuel sources Stateside.
